Did you know that Jamaica has a 2030 development plan?
The plan envisions Jamaica as a place of choice to live, work, raise families and do business.
According to https://jis.gov.jm/features/vision-2030-jamaica-national-development-plan/ individuals can help to achieve these goals by;
- Returning to/or strengthening the core values and attitudes which guided your parents and fore-parents. These include: trust, honesty and truthfulness, respect, forgiveness and tolerance, love, peace, unity, discipline, responsibility, cooperation, integrity, punctuality and good work ethic.
- Learning everything you can about Vision 2030 Jamaica and helping to educate others.
- Participating fully in the process, at the individual, community and national level.
- Becoming a leader who helps others to change for the better.
You can access the popular version of the development plan here.

When the proposed goals are achieved I suppose one effect would be that many Jamaicans who have migrated to other countries will feel comfortable returning home to live, work, raise families and do business. Of course the diaspora has to be part of the development process as well.
