Cotton Thread
Pull one, Pull them all,
Standing up against the wall.
Deep breath, closed eyes,
Waiting for the Final call.
Blurring the lines, Broken lens,
Split seams and frayed ends.
Calm mind, and last sighs,
Tomorrow, Now, Yesterday blends.
Split through pew, Two by two,
Cracked smile and worn shoe.
Said forever, fell far short,
Counting moments of far too few.
Flowers set, Ribbons tied,
Confetti flies and lips collide.
Witness cheer, not too close,
Words spoken true, Hearts lied.
Listen closely, Wise and pearled,
Open up and all unfurled.
Arriving upon the newest path,
Onto rocks the soul is hurled.
Stitched to each, together travel,
Thickest mud, and coarsest gravel.
Hand in hand, pull that thread,
And watch that life, all unravel.
