At first I didn't know which most memorable memory to choose from for the ReggaeJAHM Community contest "A Simple Gesture & A Priceless Memory", that's being hosted by our very own visionary @dmilliz. I have been and still am being blessed abundantly every day of my life, so it took a while for me to pinpoint just one moment.
For starters, I have parents who would give me the world if they could, siblings who will defend me without a question and a family that loves me despite my shortcomings (no pun intended π). And not to forget the moment that I had met @rarej, who changed my life for the better, even though I will not admit that he's often right. Emphasis on often, so not always π.
Then I played some memorable moments in my head that came to mind, like the time(s) my colleagues surprised me and made my talkative self speechless. I almost had tears of gratitude. And from one work encounter, another one popped up where I wasn't even aware of what I was doing. I just had to jump in.
Imagine this, walking towards your office and seeing two people having a heated argument on your route and looking at the body languages, the tone of voices and provoking gestures you get a feeling that it might escalate. Especially when you see them walk away and one returning just to spite the other. Well, that's where I had to step in.
I don't know what came over me at that exact moment and I wasn't even thinking, but I had to act and quickly. I stretched out my arms and whispered to the one who had just gotten provoked to stay calm and to walk away and made sure they were out of each other's hairs.
I didn't think much of it afterwards, because it was in my mind the decent and right thing to do, until the provoked person thanked me in the canteen one day and called me "an angel". If it weren't for me and my quick and calm actions, the person could've gotten fired because of a physical altercation, according to this person.
