We all know Hive is valuable, but how valuable? And how does it fit in the grand scheme of things? The current situation is that mainstream social media still rules at large, but that can change easily, with the right revolutionary actions. Soon Facebook, YouTube and Twitter might be an afterthought.
Hive could theoretically replace all of them, the keyword here being theoretically. Is it practical to have be the one above all? Probably not. That would be in essence centralization of power on a decentralized network. The power of Hive still remains that it CAN achieve such an outcome, as the data is stored decentralized on the Hive blockchain. How this data appears on the frontend side of things is completely up to the developers plugging into the blockchain. We already see the different nuances in usage with the various tribe frontends. @dbuzz being the most interesting for now, in my own personal opinion.
Whatever our decentralized future may look like, there is a good chance our social media will be balancing on top of a network of blockchains. Different blockchains with the sole purpose of communication in its many forms. And Hive is already frontrunning its way to be a giant among the crowd.
