For this week’s 125 Round 2 of the Hive Music Festival Weekly Contest, I will be singing a cover of When We Pray He answer Us by Prophet Joel Ogebe. Prophet Joel Ogebe is a minister of God from the House of Salem, known for his unique singing style. He has his distinct pattern, which makes his music special and stand out.
"When We Pray" is a song that speaks deeply about our relationship with God, not just with Him but also with people. If you need something from someone, you must ask. Without making a request, you may not receive anything from anybody, while in some cases, you'll receive something but not exactly what you want because you did not request it. The same applies to prayer: we must express our desires before God. If we do not open up our hearts to Him, we cannot expect to receive from Him.
There are many religions in the world, yet all of them use the same or similar medium or way of communication in prayer; they all express themselves by opening their mouths to pray. We speak, we ask, and we trust that God will respond. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing, always relying on Him for guidance and provision. Sometimes, it may seem like our prayers are unanswered, but that is not a reason to stop praying. Instead, we must persist and continue in the spirit of prayer. Even in our earthly relationships with one another or with our parents, we don’t always receive everything we ask for immediately; sometimes, we must wait. But when God is involved, He answers in His perfect timing; He always comes on time.
The Bible is filled with references where God answered and manifested Himself through prayers immediately, revealing His power in amazing ways.
