Blessed day to everyone in the Hive and Hive Music Festival community! I go by the name @oluthomas, and it’s a great joy to participate in Week 153, Round 3 of the weekly contest.
For this round, I will be singing a cover of Ebenezer, a powerful song by Minister David Dam. David Dam is a well-trained and spirit-filled gospel singer who worships with Koinonia International Ministry. He is also a gifted songwriter. I first heard this song from Apostle Joshua Selman, and ever since, it has captivated my heart, I simply can't get it out of my head.
Ebenezer is a song of deep appreciation, expressing gratitude for the help God continually provides to those that love Him. There are moments in life when words fail us as we reflected on all that God has done. Personally, I am grateful for many things, good health, the gift of life, financial support, meaningful relationships, shelter, food, and countless other blessings that words cannot fully express. Truly, God has been my ever present help in times of need.
Over time, I have learned to take my needs directly to God, pouring out my heart in prayer rather than relying on people for assistance or support. This is because, sadly, some individuals offer help only to turn around and broadcast it, making one feel indebted or embarrassed. A close friend of mine had a similar experience. Someone helped him financially, only for him to hear about it from different people, which left him feeling bad and regretting accepting help from such a person. But with God, it is never so. When He chooses to help a person, He connects them with the right people those who will uplift them for His glory, without seeking recognition or repayment.
I encourage us all, to please take note that when we extend a helping hand, let it be done in humility and love, without seeking attention or praise from people around. As the Word of God says, Do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. May the Almighty God richly reward every act of kindness we do in secret, his system of reward is publicly.
