I welcome everyone to my blog. This is Afri-tunes music community week #126. My name is mamab and I will be doing an old Hausa song today. I learnt the song when I was in Junior Secondary (JS 1) 🤔, that's more than two decades ago 😊. The song is by Ernest Dades, a native of Plateau state, titled "Musa na kiwo a jeji" meaning Moses was shepherding in the bush.
The gospel music artist is one I know for his fluency in Hausa songs composition and also his energy in singing.
The song is actually about the call of Moses. God called him out of a bush that was burning but the grasses were not consumed and told him to remove his sandals because where he was standing was a holy ground.
Moses was able to dictate when God needed to talk to him. Many of us today are too busy to listen to God's voice. May we not miss our time of visitation when God is calling in Jesus name. Amen 🙏.
It's a simple song, sing along with me.
Lyrics
Musa na kiwo a jeji
Sai ya ji wata murya tace
Musa cire takalma
Zan yi dan magana da kai
Woa woa woa
Musa na kiwo a jeji
Sai ya ji wata murya tace
Musa cire takalma
Zan yi dan magana da kai
English translation
Moses was shepherding in the bush
Then he heard a voice saying
Moses remove your shoes
I want to have a word with you
