Hi hivers and fellow ReggaeJahmmers. I hope you’re all doing well.
In Jamaica, we often say, ”Good friends are better than pocket money”. I thank God for friends. They are valuable. With them, we can freely laugh, chat, have a good meal and have good times. They are there with you even through bad times.
Our order- spaghetti with salmon, grilled chicken and sausage with onion sauce, grilled meat with honey mustard sauce.
This weekend I caught up with two friends. We hadn’t seen each other in a long time. From busy work schedules, illness and being busy with family, there were a lot of stuff that prevented us from meeting earlier. We were so excited to see each other. They picked me up by car and we drove to the country side to a fairly new restaurant and had a lovely meal.
My order was grilled chicken and sausage. Beneath the greens, were bits of baked potatoes. Everything was so good. The concept was “From Farm to Table”. The freshness and quality were outstanding.
Friendship Through Hard Times
Kudos to the restaurant and the foods that were served. However, what really made the experience great was the relationship my friends and I have. Some months ago, I went through a really tough experience. I may have mentioned it before in another post. These friends that I dined with, saw me in some of my most vulnerable moments. They saw me cry. They understood when I didn’t understand. They checked on me. They came to my house unannounced because they knew I needed help. They brought food for my family when they knew I had no strength to cook. They went with me to appointments. They took me out for relaxation. They held my hand. We have a good support system. I want to be there for them like they have been for me.
Driving to and from the restaurant, we saw farm fields. The greenery was refreshing.
Over the meal, we laughed, checked on each other, teased each other. It was good. Talking about laugher, @bearmol and I recently watched a gospel remix version of “Thank You for Being a Friend”. There was also a challenge going on some time ago. You can watch the video below:

Here at the end of my dashout post, are some flowers I received from a neighbor, another friend. The color of the carnations is unique. The outer parts of the petals are purple and the inner parts are of a darker shade. They’re beautiful.
Let’s cherish our friendships. Friends make the world a better place.
😃Enjoy the rest of the weekend and have a great week.
Blessings.
