WHY I CHOOSE VOICE OVER INSTRUMENTAL
My love for vocals is as a result so many factors. Though I cannot mention every of them but I will as much as possible mention the few that are most crucial. Now let,s get on with it...
I FEEL I AM A BETTER VOCALIST THAN AN INSTRUMENTALIST: Each time I hold the mic there is this confidence that come along with it. As a matter of fact, I have never felt intimidate as a vocalist. For some reason I always believe that there is no better vocalist than myself and that has been working for me. I simply get on stage pick up the mic and shine. On the other hand, I have never been able to somune such courage as an instrumentalist.
I FEEL MESSAGES CAN BE BETTER PASSED THROUGH LYRICS: Notwithstanding the fact that I believe in the powers of instrumentals, I also believe that there are messages that cannot be passed through instruments. In such a case, one must need words and a vocalist must have to come in. Music can sometimes go beyond melodic sounds, it could be a medium through which stories can be told. It could also be a means of passing a specific message, one that can probably be passed only through words. In such cases, instrumentalists can certainly not do the magic.
THE HARMONIES FROM VOCALS IS NON LIKE ANY OTHER: I believe that no instrumental harmony can ever supersede vocals. There is this special feeling that comes with listening to well harmonized voices and such feeling cannot just come from instrumentals. Given my love for vocal harmony, I always prefer to listen to song with mild instrumentals in as much as the vocals are well blended.
WORDS CAN SOMETIMES PLACE GREAT VALUE ON MUSIC: Music of great value are in most cases associated with lyrics that carries powerful messages and vocalists are the carriers of these messages. Lyrics have a way of leaving indelible messages in the mind of people and that allows beautiful lyrics to stick in the mind of people for years. In short, even when instrumentals fade away from the mind of people the powerful lyrics of amazing songs never dies.
CONCLUSION
Music is beautiful but amazing lyrics are capable of taking someone to heaven while on earth😊. In as much as I can enjoy amazing instrumentals, I simply prefer listening to the message of a song through words than struggling to decode the message that is in the mind of an instrumentalist.
