Waaahhgwaaan?
This little corner shop brought me down memory lane. It truly reminded me of the corner shops that can be found throughout Jamaica. Though the material is a little different, the vibe is the same, simple and gets the job done. I came across this shop in early spring when a co-worker invited me out for lunch and recommended this spot.
From the looks of it, the couple that owns it started a garage at first and then branched out into lunch boxes or bento as they are called here. As we picked up our bentos I couldn't help but commend the couple. The wife was serving the lunches while the husband appeared with a big smile on his face. The type of smile that says "My family and I are free because we work for we!". Well it could also be interrupted as a smile from being high off life ....or weed.
"Nice place you got here, did you build it yourself?"
"No. we got a carpenter to do it."
And that is probably the smarter thing to do. If you don't know how to DYI then why not HSWC. I just made that one up, can you guess what it means.
We got our bento and then went on our way but not before I took a photo of this place. It reminded me of the power of building your own shit. And the bento, it kinda reminded me of Jamaican food as well. This was tandori chicken but it's looking more like Jamaican curry chicken. It was good. I hope to go back sometime soon, maybe in the summer and try some more of the menu.
Until next time,
Stay Blessed.
