In October of 2019 word was just starting to spread about the virus. Had no idea this would be the last event I’d go to in awhile. Events are still happening but I think it’s worth venturing to the big city with all the restrictions and most of these clubs are supposed to be closed.

The event was a Disc Jock clash with the winner getting fully paid trip to Jamaica to play at Dream Weekend in Negril ( one of the most anticipated and attended events in the Caribbean)

Not sure what happened with that and the virus but I guess they will have to wait until the world is open again.

The after party fir the event saw one of the main judges and popular DJs , Delano from Renaissance sound blessing the Tokyo scene. A very memorable event. Enjoy the clips

God damn, do I miss going to shows. This looks like a ton of fun. Hopefully things can be back to normal in the somewhat near future...

Back in the days!
Hmmm these videos don't seem to play in peakd

Man.... The last time I went clubbing was December 2019... There was also a Dancehall & Bubblin' party we went to and this brings me back. I know I keep saying I enjoy being at home watching movies, but I do miss the occasional out dancing though.

Nice to know Japan also has a Dancehall scene though.

It’s always good to have options. Just having the choice go to a party even if you don’t wanna go 😂!

Interestingly even though Tokyo is on lockdown /curfew, a fe of the clubs are still open. The big ones too. I guess the gov can’t bite the hand that feed them.

Hmmm I don't know about the huge clubs, but we do sometimes hear noise coming from around the local bar(s), so we're thinking they're opening up against the rules, but we're not sure because we are keeping to the rules.

Exactly! It's the choice that's "taken away" that gets me.

That looks like some good memories. They sure know how to throw down over there, even if being caught with a spliff could ruin your life.

Trust me, the dancehall scene here was picking up nicely before Covid. You know the Japanese they would be good to go if they get caught, 1 st a warning, next a fine. For the foreigners no such luck.
