It’s been a minute since I did a DashOut or even a post but yo, let’s go with the flow. On this particular day the family and I along with the in-laws went to a new ramen joint in town. I’m always up for a new ramen experience and what an experience it was.
The name of the restaurant is Misoya Genbe, so you know the taste of the ramen is……….misou. The restaurant was having a special on its meat-full dishes so I went for it. In all my ramen days I’ve never seen such a big slab of pork in a ramen bowl in real life.
So how was it?
The ramen was good, the noodles were thick as well as the soup and the meat was so tender I could use chopsticks to cut through it. The only think that caught me off guard was how thick and full of flavor the soup was. It had a really rich taste, a bit too rich and salty too. But I think this is the type of ramen in which you don’t drink the soup, just slurp it with the noodles. That mince in the middle added to the aesthetics of the dish but the taste was also rich in misou, something I could do without.
I won’t be coming back to this ramen restaurant for a long time if ever as it’s not my bowl of soup but I know many will like it. After lunch, the boys hopped in the grandparent’s car and off to the mall they went. I like the picture below as you can see some old style Japanese buildings in the background.
All in all it was a good outing with the fam and I gotta give it up to the in-laws for treating us and also taking the boys off our hands for a bit.
So how do you like your ramen?
