Hello everyone, It’s Afri-tunes week 158 and I am delighted to drop my rendition for the week. Out of the Joy and happiness that fills my heart today, I decided to do a cover of the song “I do” by Chris Morgan; a Nigerian gospel singer from Otukpo, Benue State. He released an album in 2014 which includes the track “I do” which I presented as my rendition. This is one of the oldest songs I enjoyed so much.
Well one of the things that made me fall in love with the song is the pattern of music and the instrumentals. It’s a pattern of music a Nigerian would dance to even when he/she doesn’t feel like dancing. The beats will make you fall for it. So, the first time I heard the song the beats captured my attention and I went further to understand the song.
I also like the fact that he also introduced his dialect in the song, it shows that he is proud of where he came from and for me, I really like that. I like it when people do not hide their identity but rather present themselves and culture before their audience.
Also, for the fact the song was an old song yet the quality of the music is fair enough. The instrumentals to be precise delivered their service as expected and I must say they did it professionally and the sound of the beats came out well.
The lead vocals also did their best which I personally felt it's good enough. They attack the song as expected and also sing their various parts as expected.
