We are in week 163 of the Afritunes weekly contest and in this week's entry I will be performing a song related to the love of God for Humanity by freely giving hIs only begotten son, what a privilege and honour to be a partaker of such grace and glory. I will be singingExcess Love by Mercy Chimwe.
This song convey or speaks about the love of Jesus Christ to us, He came despite how humanity treated Him, he was patient enough to go through all the hatred and the bitterness in heart of men towards and instead of paying them back according to how they treated He showed humanity kindness by agreeing to die on the cross,and in those days if you are crucify that means you committed a serious offence, but Jesus was not a sinner, he did not steal, he did not do anything wrong to crucify but the people they should free barrabas for them for Jesus to be let free. And some of these were the people that praise him when they saw him performing miracles and he healed their diseases of different types but all of a sudden they forgot all the good things he did to them and they were all clamouring for Him to be crucify and that was done.
Jesus' prayer on the cross says it all, in His words, ;Father forgives them for they don't know what they are doing despite what he is going through, despite the pain and persecution he still forgives. That's the ultimate kind of love God wants us to have for one another.
For us to live in the love of God we must love our neighbour and pray for our enemy not to die but for them to come to the full knowledge of Christ.
