We are in Week 150 of the AfriTunes Community Weekly Contest, and this week, I will be performing an original song titled “Ji Kuka Na,” which translates to “Hear My Cry.” This song is in the Hausa dialect, one of the most widely spoken languages in Nigeria, predominantly from the northern region of the country.

“Ji Kuka Na” is a heartfelt song a cry to the Lord for His divine intervention in our lives, trusting Him to mend our broken situations with His mercy and compassion. In Nigeria today, people are struggling, and there seems to be nowhere to turn. The government, rather than assisting the masses, continues to accumulate wealth for themselves and their families.

I have witnessed heartbreaking situations where people cannot afford their hospital bills, leading to the loss of loved ones. I’ll make reference to my own experience: my mother has been unwell for a long time, and her medications are very expensive. By the grace of God, we’ve managed to cope, but there have been times when paying those bills felt impossible. I thank God for His provision and support, but not everyone is as fortunate.

This song is a prayer for God to intervene in our country because life is becoming increasingly unbearable for many people. Young people, unable to find legitimate means of work, resort to defrauding innocent people of their hard earned money. Some even go as far as engaging in ritua monls, using their girlfriends to pursue wealth. This is not due to a lack of resources in the country, rather, it’s because our leaders have failed to do the right thing.

So, I sing “Ji Kuka Na” as a cry for God’s mercy and intervention in our nation Nigerian and the whole world at large.

As you listen and watch, I hope my entry resonates with you. Your encouragement whether through comments, upvotes, or reblogs means so much to me. Thank you for your continued support, I don’t take it for granted. Stay blessed Fam!
