Hello everyone, it's a pleasure to be participating this week on Afri-tunes, though at first, I didn't know the song I'll present, I didn't even know the artist I'd choose from, so as usual, I searched through my YouTube, but seems by head was still blank, even though there are several songs on YouTube..lol, still scrolling, then boom! I came across "Jailer" By Asa.
However, that's not my first time listening to the song, but when I came across the song, it rang a bell in my head, Yeah, that's how I came across my song selection for this week. Asa Is one of my favourite artists because I love every one of her songs, though the majority of her songs are technical and it will require lots of time to perfect, though this particular one is not technical, just my thought.
According to the song, it's all about treating others the way we want to be treated. The future is the reflection of what we do today, and that's why we should treat people right today because we don't know where we'll meet them in the future. Just like the lyrics say "If you're walking on the marketplace, don't throw stones". We should be careful of what we do today because our deeds might turn around to hurt us tomorrow.
And we should not always be quick to judge others for their actions, we ask ourselves, what if we are in the same shoes as them, are we not going to do the same? When we are too quick to judge others, we'll be judged too because we are not perfect as humans, we make mistakes and we should give others the chance to correct their mistakes.
I'm in chains you're in chains too
I wear uniforms and you wear uniforms too
I'm a prisoner,
You're a prisoner too Mr Jailer
I have fears you have fears too
I will die, you sef go die too
Life is beautiful
Don't you think so too Mr Jailer
[Chorus:]
I'm talking to you jailer
Stop calling me a prisoner
Let he who is without sin -
Be the first to cast the stone Mr Jailer, Mr Jailer Man
