MY MUSICAL QUEST...

in AFRI-TUNES13 days ago
I have always loved music, and there is no how I would imagine a me without musical goals for the year. Yes, I had my goals set, and am doing everything possible to archive these goals. The truth is that I have not been able to do every of that which I set out to do hundred percent, but I have been able to archive a lot. That notwithstanding, the journey has not been easy.

As we approached the new year, I decided that I will work on my self musically, and that made me to set these goals. First, I made a decision to improve on my keyboard skills. In other to archive that, I mapped out Mondays and Fridays for my practices. So far, I have been doing my best, as I have never missed a week entirely. Nevertheless, I still got more work to do, and I will certainly see to it.

Another goal I have set for myself regarding my musical life this year is to become part of a good musical group. I would not say that I have entirely archived that, but I am seriously working on it. Though I belong to my Parish choir where I am the choir master, but I certainly need something more. With regard to this, I have indicated interest in renewing my membership with 'The Voice of the Lord Gospel Band'. I used to be a member of this gospel musical group, but my tight schedule caused me to pull back at some point. This time, I am doing everything possible to ensure that I create time for myself.

I would not refer to this one as a goal since it is just a mere wish. I would love to once again have a Saxophone that I could call mine. It have been four years now since I last had the opportunity to play the saxophone. The interest in that beautiful instrument is somehow finding its way to me, but I no longer have one. I sold off my tenor sax in the year 2021 after I graduated and left my school band to Port Harcourt. Since then, I have not been able to purchase one, as I have completely lost interest in the instrument. Now, the interest is back, but I do not have the instrument nor the money to purchase one. It is as a matter of fact my wish that the money comes, even though I do not have it as my budget for the year. Who knows, miracle money could find it's way to me😄.

To set these goals are far more easier than to archive them, I have come to realise that myself. I have always had a culture of setting musical goals at the beginning of every year, but I usually end up not achieving more than sixty percent of these goals. The beginning of every year is always a good time, as I make serious efforts to ensure I meet my goals, but I eventually get tired somewhere within the year. I simply pray that this particular year ends up differently.

Omo, sometimes we set these goals full of hopes and energy but along the line we just dump them. Well, I'll tell you the truth, things might end up same if we don't begin to be intentional about this goals. Writing them out is never enough, we have to step up and chase them even when it is not convenient.

You are absolutely right on this @emreal. Is only the amount of effort we put into becoming better than matters

Thank you so much for the beautiful response
