Looking up songs for my last A Picture and A Reggae Tune (APART) post I came across this beautiful uplifting song, that I kept it in my list for future posts and now - after letting it sink in for approximately five days in in my head - I've found a fitting picture for it.
During our Menimi trip we woke up pretty early. I don't know if it's because we shared our lodge with early birds or if it was because of the planned activities or both, but we also made a promise to seize and welcome the new day(s). Which, as you can see, was to our advantage as we were able to shoot some beautiful scenic photos.
So, there's me welcoming the day and enjoying the sunrise at the resort, which made me forget all of my problems for a moment. I believe we've all had our down days and our own struggles to overcome, so when we have these small moments of joy, we should seize them and try to remember that with every new day there's a new opportunity to work towards happiness and/or to overcome those battles.
And now the complimentary song, that I couldn't shake out of my head (not that I wanted to 😂), is Etana's (born Shauna McKenzie) number titled I Rise. I was hooked from the very first opening lines "I was born strong, I was made for this. See, I met so many hard time, when I thought I couldn't make it", that reminded me of my own trials and overcoming those with faith, positivity and taking it day by day.
We're all facing battles - whether outside or on the inside - but that shouldn't deter us from rising up every day and trying our best to overcome those. Let's take it day by day💪.
Chasse into the backstage! 💃
