Bless up! From here in tiny little Suriname, it's @JustinParke again with a collection of the JAHMIN Posts Of The Week.
WHAT'S NEW?
A combination of electricity problems, Hive node problems, and a few other technical difficulties prevented me from submitting this curation yesterday, but perseverance is key, so I'm publishing this Monday morning because all systems are working at last.
This JAHMIN POSTS OF THE WEEK curation from the ReggaeJAHM Community contains some awesome #DashoutSunday, #APART posts from around the globe. There is even some ganja-infused rum and erotica, so hopefully we've got a little something for everybody.
Don't forget, you don't need to be from the Caribbean or live in to post in our community. From Ital food to reggae music, Caribbean news and much more is welocme in our community. To learn more about our tags/cultural initiatives, see the following posts: Dashout Sunday, APART, and RJNAS.
Stay positive ReggaeJAHMers, and project the firmness.
WHAT'S JAHMIN' THIS WEEK?
Log another week into the ReggaeJAHM history books, we are back again with a super Irie collection of this week's most JAHMIN' posts. From Venezuela to Japan and beyond, we are certainly a diverse community of individuals.
Every week, I select a 5% beneficiary of this post, and this week's winner is @kidsisters, because she had a really tough time putting together her #APART post. There's a lot involved in translating Khmer-English and relating a picture to the song, especially if you're an 11-year-old non-native English speaker. Way to girl!!
👩🍳 Inna' De Suriname Kitchen 👨🍳
Simple Spinach, Savory Chicken and Shared Ingredients 🍃 #DashOutSunday
A little bit of Suriname co-chefery from @tanjakolader and @rarej and some surprise ingredients resulted in this fine spread. Surinamers are quite fond of rice, but it was left out of this meal in favor of potatoes. It's always good to shake things up a little, whether it be in life or in the kitchen. Give thanks to you two for your positive vibes and chefery.
💃 Cambodian Reggae Dancing 📻
SreyLeak - "Saravan Rok Ku" 💪 #APART {A Picture And Reggae Tune}
The Saravan is a traditional Cambodian dance well-known throughout the country. With a bit of reggae influence from foreigners living in Cambodian, the artist Sreyleak has recorded several reggae-inspired songs. This post by @kidsisters features the Saravan traditional song/dance recorded in a reggae style, and it works very well.
🙏 Giving Thanks 🙏
Giving Thanks For Another Day & The People In It. #MOT #APART
Most of you probably know ReggaeJAHM's Jamaican co-founder resides in Japan, a place long-connected with Jamaica, with a small but devoted base of reggae music fans and lovers of all things Jamaican. Our man has been in Japan so long that he's a well-known face in his area, and he ran into some friends in the park, and found plenty to give thanks for in this time.
🥃 To The Moon 🌿
Ganja Rum —Infuse Almost Anything with Cannabis + Drink Recipe 🥳💨
I'm no longer an an alcohol drinker, but I well remember remember reading a High Times magazine in the 90s that featured a "Green Dragon" recipe, which involved infusing marijuana into vodka. It's a new world now with much more weed tech, and @donald.porter shows off his ganja-rum shots and cocktail involving june plum juice, a very beloved fruit in Jamaica.
💋 No End To A Good Thing 💄
Thirsty: Part Six
The Thirsty series by @cleotheclepto keeps going and going, and is quite a hit on the blockchain. Unsure whether or not this one will be the last one in this series, it is certainly full of drama and excitement, but then again, every story by this author is full turns and twists. Ladies, read at your own risk, these stories are fire-hot 🔥🔥🔥.
🛃 Tough Times 😠
Initiative APART - Reflection, Photography and song
It is tough times for Venezuelans in Colombia, and @josevas217 happens to be one of those people. I can relate to his struggle to maintain a quality of life under adverse circumstances, and I'm glad he is doing the best he can with the tools he has. This song really speaks to the situation his home country is in, but he remains a positive and hopeful person, and a shining light in our community.
GIVE THANKS FOR READING
Stay tuned for more JAHMIN Posts Of The Week and bless up yourselves all around the world. Keep your loved ones safe and keep surviving and hustling any way you know how, for these are tough times we are living in.
