We make a lot of friends here on Hive. People all over the world connecting through the magic of the internet and blockchain technology. But how cool would it be to actual meet those foreign friends. Especially in these times of distance and quarantine. Well that's exactly what @tanjakolader and I got to do this weekend. Last Friday to be exact.
They've been living in our country for almost 2 years now. And I have gotten to know @justinparke ever since discovering Hive in August, along with his lovely wife, expert insect photographer and talented chef @sreypov and their star kids who share the account @kidsisters. The Suriname Jeugdjournaal celebrity and the cheeky one.
So before the freshly married couple went out on another journey we made sure to enjoy their company at least once. And truth be told, from the conversations, the laughter and the overall good Irie vibes, it didn't feel like meeting unknown people at all. More like it was one of many frequent visits.
With rocking vegan food, conversations about pasts, economy politics and travel, and a quick visit from cousin Maryjane, it was a truly JAHMmin night. Thank you for the warm and welcoming hospitality Justin and family. I still dream of those sweet potato rolls by the way.
And to complete the picture there's no better song I can't think of than this one right here. :)
Here's to many more encounters! π»
