Carnival Explosion - J‘OUVERT – The Lakeside Edition

What a great way to start Berlin Carnival 2024!

Me & my girl moved out of Berlin last year after more than 20 years...
The nicer it is right now to come back as a "tourist" and enjoy everything
what you couldn't appreciate no more living there for 20 years+...
One of those things is "Karneval der Kulturen" (Carnival of Cultures).

As a big fan of the Caribbean...

...which represents a big part of my life since the late 90s, my Carnival-focus
is on Soca from T&T (Trinidad & Tobago) and on Reggae & Dancehall from
Jamaica.

J‘OUVERT...

...is a fix part of the Caribbean and especially of the T&T Carnival, where
you put on some old clothes and color yourself & the others up.
I did the Original in T&T between 2000-2002 three times, but i didn't
know "how hard"/ how colorful Berlin would be...now we know!😜
Being aware of the colors, we packed some towels for the seats of my
new car, still we thought: J'Ouvert won't be that crazy in Germany...wrong!😂
So I didn't have my oldest clothes on, but the J'Ouvert scene did not care..haha!
After meeting some Trini friends of mine who wanted to see me on the
Dancefloor we got targeted & colored up!
But it was all worth it, the party was great & by now we washed most
of the clothes and got most of them clean.😉
This was only Friday afternoon 'til evening. Stay tuned for the Saturday &
