RE: GOSLAR 🚢 A World War 2 Relic

in ReggaeJAHM4 years ago

Srey-Yuu learned a bit about this in school, and coincidentally the story of this ship is one of the first things I learned when watching YouTube videos about Suriname before we arrived. I was also surprised to see a Suriname-Korean War Monument at the Waterkant, mentioning the less than 100 or so Suriname soldiers that fought over there. I love obscure lesser-known stories of history.

Me too... Even though the Goslar story is a wider known story for Surinamers (I think), the details about the crew members and their journey to the Eastern border was new to me, but very much interesting to read about the Surinamers who caught the escapees.
