Hello Reggaejahm community, today I want to share a fairly new song, just two days ago (02/02/2022) the video was released. By the way, quite a particular date, so somehow it must have to mean that they chose that date, or maybe it was coincidence, I don't know.
I'm always on the lookout for new songs, listening to distract the mind, to relax, however, I must say with all certainty that this song I bring to share I don't think it's exactly for fun. The message, the criticism it makes is very harsh, the images it uses to illustrate obviously leaves a degree of mental tension before the injustice raised, I'm sorry for that, but I still believe that music is a great way for social criticism and to show what some might want to hide.
The singer and creator is Boom-Donavan, a singer of Jamaican origin who has been in the music scene for a long time, always with a clear message. This song is an example of that. Some of the songs of his discography and of his social cut are the following ones:
You can see that his theme is always directed to the social, we know that this is not commercial at all, I've been looking for social networks of him, and the truth, I found almost nothing, probably is a very personal stance to this way of being known ....
The video I share below brings images that moved me, because particularly I have had some uncomfortable situations with police, especially in my home country, Venezuela, where the security forces are to be feared, and social discontent with their attitude is more than evident, but they sow fear, such terrorist groups, and in general people prefer to keep quiet to avoid being disappeared, and I'm not exaggerating.
Many things I could say about this video, but I will start by commenting that it is incredible to me that in all countries of the world, even in those that we can recognize as "developed " there is a somewhat dirty vision of the treatment that some security forces have towards some citizens, and if we get into the field of racism, obviously we would fall into a conversation of hours, in which we would not get anywhere.
They seem to be a kind of necessary evil, because logically order must be maintained, but sometimes the order that is sought is exclusive for some groups and not for the majority, that is where the heart of the matter lies. I have a somewhat radical stance against the police in general, perhaps it has to do with what I saw in Venezuela working in hospital emergencies, and I will not go into details in this particular, but what I saw was really terrible.
Well, everyone has their own assessment of both the video and the reality, but it will always be their reality. I would like to know what you think after watching the video, sorry if you feel burdened by it....
