My attempts to maintain a healthy and clean life extend beyond personal hygiene; I believe that humanity at large benefits from my ability to keep clean. The most common thing I do to ensure that humanity benefits from my actions is to ensure that I do not throw waste on the street. It is a habit I adopted in 2018, and it has been part of me ever since. It is always the case that I carry biscuits and pure water packets in my pocket, and some of my friends do not seem to understand why, being Nigerians. That on my own is a decision
Another act that I have exhibited in my attempt to bring about healthy lifestyle is to prompt the people I work with to clean up their sorounding. That I have done ones in a small company I managed, and severally with my copers while serving as a CDS president during my NYSC program. Since it was the case that company was still young, we are yet to get gardeners. I do not really know how it happened, but I was somehow able to convince my staffs (sales reps, cashier and store keepers) to do the work of a gardner. We all paused work for that very day, dressed up differently and came along with our work tools. It was no doubt an amazing experience.
Given the set of people I served with during my NYSC, not every one really cared about how the sorounding of our CDS ground looked. Every body simply want to come, do their documentation/tump printing and go. I eventually have to introduce a mandatory cleaning of the sorounding. A project that many would have pulled out from of they had an option, thank God for my LGI (local government inspector) and his support. Everyone eventually had no option than to participate in this mandatory cleaning.
Coming to personal hygiene, I just do my best. I do everything in my power to look neat except for the fact that I do not barb my hair as often as I should😁. That sometimes get me worried since I do not even know why. I it just the case that I prefer keeping my hair for while, combing it till it can no longer be combed. That aside, I simply do same as every other persons. I take my bath and brush my teeth twice everyday, cut my nails, wear neat clothes and try to smell nice.
Once again, my major reason for being neat is societal. As a matter of fact, how neat I am able to keep myself will certainly determine how comfortable people will be around me. Imagine sitting close to someone with chronic body odour, it is no doubt unbearable. As much as I do not like it, I try as much as possible not to put another in similar position. Simply put, I just try not to smell. Now, not just for my sake, but for the sake of everyone that I will come across.
