It's Vibes Web3 and I am back to share my simple cover and entry for week 3.
When I first heard Adele sing "Easy On Me," her strong voice hit me hard. But it wasn't until I really understood the meaning that the song struck me deeply.
On the surface, the words are about dealing with big life changes with strength. Adele sings loudly, asking for some kindness as she finds her way through an unsteady time. We've all been knocked down by the unexpected before - that falling feeling can shake you up.
But "Easy On Me" goes much deeper than that. This is Adele's honest song about her divorce and the difficult choice to split up her family. As a mom, she painfully decided to leave her partner for her young child's wellbeing. Yet she fears he may someday resent her for breaking apart the only family he knew.
Lines like "You can't deny how hard I have tried" really affected me when I understood their full meaning. Adele seems to say that despite her best efforts as a mother, her little one may never truly understand the huge sacrifice she made out of love.
When I covered this song, I wanted to express all of a mother's love, courage, and inner struggles. I just hope this instrumental version creates an open space for conveying the sadness in Adele's heartfelt words.
With my voice, I hoped to show the unimaginable obstacles moms face to protect their children, sometimes from the same pain they experienced. Adele's honest lyrics powerfully depict a mother's resilience in putting her child's potential happiness first.
This cover is my tribute to every parent who has done whatever it takes for their kids. Adele opened up, giving us a real look into the compassion, hope and sheer perseverance it takes to bravely begin your family's new chapter - no matter how rough that path may be.
