Hi hivers. How are you?
Just last week, I went with a small group to do strawberry picking. The season actually starts around December and usually lasts until about May.
Although sakura flavors are widely being advertised now as specials, it is also quite common to see strawberry flavors and other strawberry items being advertised at cafes, coffee shops and restaurants.
The first photo, “Strawberry Selection”, I snapped at the Nunobiki Herb Gardens”. I snapped the second photo in Santica, Sannomiya. Both locations are in Kobe.
When we went to pick strawberries, it was raining a bit but that didn’t affect plans. We picked ”indoors”. There were about six or seven aisles. They were quite narrow so we had to be careful not to knock the ripe strawberries off. As we moved around, from aisle to aisle, we could smell the fragrance of the strawberries. We could also hear drops of rain on the roof. Some of the berries were over-ripe but beautiful nonetheless. We could also see some young berries and the beautiful flowers that the plants produce.
There was a rule that we could pick and eat all we wanted to but would have to pay for the strawberries we decided to leave with. That being said, I left with none but also made sure I paced myself as I didn’t want to overdo things. I had about seven or eight of them. Some were quite big. They weren’t the sweetest I had but nothing beats the taste of fresh, hand-picked strawberries. We had a treat and enjoyed taking photos during and at the end of the process.
It was a lovely experience. It is also a great activity for families.
