Earlier today, i came across a grasshopper with a shield, I was looking for something to photograph, and then, I saw this pretty insect on the floor, it was on top of a stick first, but when I went close, it jumped to the nearest stone.
I turned to it with my phone, and i did the work of a photographer, it was just like I was traveling in the time I took these photos, and it seems, today is the first time I had this kind of feelings about photography.
Therefore i stop going to the place I thought I was going to do a photoshoot, because I was seeing something interesting already.
The deal is, I got attracted to this insect, and it was it stick head. I have not seeing an insect that has this head before, because, there is a shield on the head.
When I talked to someone about the shield on his head, the response I got was that, the shield is what the insect is used to defend itself when it fighting.
I have not seen this kind of insect fought before, but on the day I saw insects into a fight, the two of them that was into the fight was doing it with what they have, so I believe, it can used that shield to defend itself in whatsoever they wants to come it way.
Just as human protect itself, plants and animals does the same, it was so when I found out about a plant, it was a water leaf plant, and in the day time, I see that it leafs were well spread in the area it grow, but you see, towards in the evening when I was going to cut the water leaf, I found out that it did not spread it leafs again, but it hold them all to itself.
And, that is a way that plants used to protect itself from other organisms or plants that might want to hurt it.
so today, i touched the insect, and it used it legs on me, it pushed me with it, and those fangs on it legs almost hurt me, I didn't want to be hurt, so I let it go.
And took those shots, the essence I touch it was to take those shots while it was in my hand, but it was still a success, because I nailed few photos.
If this insect is on a plant, people will not see it, because it looks just like plants, you see, green are most of the colors of plants, so in the midst of plants, people will hardly find this insect.
we all know that grasshopper's are not very good in the farm or garden, they chew plants in the way that if we find out what they are doing, we will not like them that much.
But just as I like others insects, I also have that good thought for grasshopper's as well, their lifestyle doesn't have to make me shift from the way I feel about insects.
Because all things are bright, and nature is beautiful.
