Memories Of National Service

Each time I looked at this magazine, lt draws my mind back to most of the activities l undergo both ln the orientation camp and ln the place of my primary assignment.

lt was a ride that i enjoyed and on the other hand, a ride that came along with some challenges. l met a lot of people during the national service and from there we became friends and still communicating.

ln the training camp, l felt not to like it that much, due to the that fact we used to go out and train ln the morning, I didn't like that aspect of going out ln the morning times to do training, because ln the morning ls when I enjoy sleep a lot, and I will cover up myself with many pillows or blanket, but there in the camp, there was no way to do that.

Once it was time for training, the people ln charge will blow up whistle and, "who are you to still ignore it when an army is coming to your hostel with a long cane.

Although, there were no time that corp members received punishment ln the camp, but seeing that an army man was there with a cane alone is enough, honestly, I comport myself ln every activities ln the camp.

There was a day, lt was ln the afternoon, l did not partake in the matching, because lt was my platoon turned to served in the kitchen, and I was selected to be among the platoon member who assist ln the kitchen, that day I was really happy, because I was getting tired of the activities.

Then lt came to the day we were to leave camp, the excitement was much, because I was missing my friends, and most of the times they would show me where they went to, l will just wish i was there too, but I can't divide myself to many places.

There Orientation closing ceremony was done, and we got our posting letters, then here comes the primary assignment, lt was where the real challenge's came ln, especially in some of the CDs day, l will just feels like being at home, and used that time to do another thing, but I wouldn't want to received query, so l must go, and performed the humanity role to my country.

Nevertheless In a blink of an eye lt was a year, the service was over, we were given a certificate of National Service.

The Passing Out Parade was what l like the most, because most of the people who were doing their primary assignment in a local government that were not closer to mine, we got to see on that day of the passing out parade, as it was organize in one place.

After a day time I traveled to my state of residence, seeing this magazine today brings back those vibes during the NYSC year.

lmages are mine.
