It is hard to believe that a month has passed by already of using Xitter and I thought it is time to review my progress. It has been a big learning experience as I am quite used to web3 and the differences are HUGE and very subtle.
One is focused on users as a product amd their time os the main currency, the other is #freedomtech where the users own their own data and there usually arent any algorithms.
In the month I did some research from Twitter youtube experts and they gave some good advices how to grow your account and a realistic aim is to try and get 10k followers in 6 months.
As well as these tips, Xitter also has some useful new tools to help you such as Radar that helps you track trending topics and then engage with those trending posts.
Xitter is flooded with bots and scammers and real genuine engagement is swamped with this garbage, yet content creators really seek out and are happy when they genuinely engage.
Overall, how have I done this month?
As you can see I am down around 20 followers from when I started. As I rebranded and changed the focus of my account, I got hit hard with unfollows. This is probably to be expected as they may not want to follow the content I now publish. I also had a few BCHers following me which may be the first to unfollow 😆
However, it is not all bad news, I have been steadily gaining newer and more high quality followers each day to replace them and may now be turning a corner where I can really start growing my total. How do I mean by higher quality followers?
I have made steady gains in my blue tick verified followers. So, those who unsubscribed, I have replaced with blue tick followers which is great news and an important metric to grow. So far I need 340 more blue tick followers to get monetisation.
The 2nd metric for monetisation is impressions. It is a shame I didn't stick with premium when it forst launched as the algorithm was still in its infancy and threw around inoressions everywhere. But now it is much more orderly and controlled. Growing your impressions is now a real grind. You need 5M rolling over a 3mth period. Currently my average is around ~1.5m. So I need to 3X from here to monetise.
It seems daunting but is still do-able with some grinding and making some improvements to my account. Some mistakes I cant fix, my account name has a 1 in it which is a big no-no.
As I have been growing my profile page views, I need to focus on making this better and more appetising to make people want to follow. Here I am planning a big overhaul. Next I want to renew my brand grpahics and make them more appealing and update their focus.
Next I try to focus on quality engagement and posts to drive things forward. At the moment, I try to aim for at least 30k impressions each day and a decent amount of likes 250-300 seems to also show content is ok received. I didnt have any content go viral yet or trending, so this could also help me if I get lucky with the algorithm. I have found shorter posts and with graphics are the best received, but you cannot do that all the time.
I do get days where I don't feel like it which I have had to battle through abit. However I am determined to see if I can succeed in this challenge and will persevere.
See you next month.
Thanks for reading.
