Last week I attended my kids school concert ( no these are not my kids ๐ ) and took these pics of our friendsโ daughter and her partner as they performed to the greatest Christmas song of all time,IMO.( Oh, my kids? Those pics donโt fit into the theme of this post).
The thing is, the seating was done via lottery which the children had a chance to randomly choose the parentโs seating number. Luckily we got a seat in the second row but even that wasnโt so great. But our friends got a seat further back and were unable to see their daughterโs performance properly.
Without thinking, I took the photos and I think they turned out pretty good. We didnโt have the friendsโ contact (so I guess they are acquaintances?) but we knew the husbandโs sister and so my wife sent it to her.
Today I saw the mom at the nursery school while picking up the my kids and she was so grateful for the photos. You could hear the gratitude in her voice as she thanked us. It is then it dawned on me how important these pictures were to her. It is the daughterโs last concert in nursery school and it was one of, if not the best performance ๐ญ of the concert. ( I really wish my boys did this with some girls but they are a bit rough and can be shy).
Whatโs the whole point of this post besides sharing some nice photos and mustering up the spirit of Xmas in a Buddhist country ? Well it is just to remind us that giving in this season and beyond doesnโt have to include money or material things. A simple thoughtful gesture can bring so much joy to the receiver and the giver. It was a joy for me to take these photos as it is something I like to do but the added bonus was that it brought joy to the parents as they now have a memorable moment timestamped via photography.
